Is ScreenUsage the same app as tvusage?
Yes. tvusage is now ScreenUsage. Update your existing app through Google Play; you do not need to install a replacement.
What happens to my account, subscription, and saved setup?
The rename does not require a new account or subscription. Your existing account, subscription, and saved setup continue.
What happened to tvusage Remote?
tvusage Remote is now ScreenUsage Remote, the companion app for managing connected child devices. Update your existing Remote app through Google Play as usual.
Which devices does ScreenUsage support?
Google TV, Android TV, Android phones, and tablets. Available features can vary by manufacturer and Android version.
How do I set up ScreenUsage?
Install ScreenUsage on the child’s device, complete consent and permissions, set a parent PIN, and configure the controls. Test a rule before relying on it.
How does the free trial work?
Current trial details and prices are shown in the app. Review them there before choosing a plan; prices may vary by country.
Can I manage profiles remotely?
Pro includes editing synced profiles from Remote. Plus includes Remote for one device and two profiles. Connect child devices to the same account; updates depend on connectivity and synchronization.
How do siblings share a TV?
Create a profile for each child. A parent activates the right profile before each turn. Usage belongs to the active profile, including when children watch together.
Why does ScreenUsage need Accessibility Service permission?
It identifies the foreground app so ScreenUsage can enforce blocking and time limits. It does not read or collect content displayed within apps.
Why is there a persistent notification?
The notification shows that ScreenUsage is running and monitoring app usage. It remains visible while monitoring is active.
How does ScreenUsage handle data?
Usage data is processed locally. Enabling Remote sends installed-app data, usage statistics, and restriction settings to the server. The policies also disclose analytics, crash reporting, retention, and deletion.
What other permissions are needed?
Controls may require Usage Stats, Display Over Other Apps, and Foreground Service access. Internet, Boot Completed, and optional battery optimization exclusion support sync and monitoring. Follow the in-app guidance.
